It’s suddenly dawned me I have serious “new study says this” fatigue. I think I’ll order a Big Mac and fries on Just Eat for the first time in four years.🍔
I definitely feel much better in the gym when i have a lot of carbs. I feel clear headed when i go a week or more without carbs, but workouts suffer drastically.
nutrition seems to change from week to week, I'm leaning towards my own findings for weight loss exercising. cant trust any info 100%
There is nothing wrong with some quality complex carbs for energy to train
For someone who cuts out carbs completely when getting cut for summer…. I can train harder and recover quicker when eating carbs
On keto, but with a bit of carbs on the last meal of the day to reduce cortisol (to help with sleep and muscle building during sleep).
7:00 100% Agree. My workouts greatly improved when I stopped worrying so much about timing and focused more on training hard, eating when I was hungry, prioritizing protein and healthy fats and topping off carbs when my performance began to tank. I also noticed I got much more energy from those carbs after being without them.
Ever since I started prioritizing whole foods and better sleep, my energy has improved more than any coffee ever could! Anyone else experienced this shift?
You briefly touched on recovery at the end but for me personally, that's by far the greatest impact of carbs. I've been tracking sleep for 4 years and have tried cycles from keto to low-fat-high-carb and nearly everything in between and my sleep suffers greatly from low carb, on the verge of insomnia during 2 separate keto phases. I've found hitting my protein # then splitting my remaining calories roughly evenly between carbs and fat (whole foods as much as possible) is what works best for me. Balance, go figure!
This is my first video of yours that i've watched that wasnt a podcast, and I actually really enjoyed it. I like to hyper-focus on things for long periods of time, so the longer form videos seemed like they might me better for the way my brain works, HOWEVER, this was super informative and illd definitely be looking more into this study, as well as your other, non-podcast videos lol. Thank you for covering this!
