I went on a prolonged water fast of 55 days last year. I had insulin resistance and was very overweight. I did wonders for my health. I had been fasting off and on for almost 20 years and wanted to take it to a higher level. My longest fast had been 12 days. But this was a new start. My first goal was 3 days, then 5 days then 1 week and then two weeks. I kept going. The next goal was 3 weeks, then 30 days and then 40 days. I kept going. I watched many videos on fasting. I remembered to take in electrolytes, trace minerals, vital sea salt, magnesium, vitamin B-1 and vitamin D. I didn’t work out at all, except light walking and light isometrics. I decided at 55 days that it was time to stop the fast. During this whole time, I cooked a Thanksgiving feast and a Christmas feast for my family without eating anything at all. I read about refeeding syndrome and made sure to slowly start eating very lightly over a period of about three days before I slowly went back to eating normally and with healthy foods. I felt very clear and energetic during my fast. It was very empowering. My doctor was baffled with my excellent bloodwork. My white blood cell count had gone down dramatically but that was because of my 55 day fast. I told her about my fast and she was like shocked. I’m glad.

She's an avid faster, now, too, IF and prolonged. Oh, and it goes without saying we cleaned up our diet to as close to perfection as we can get.

This doctor needs to be cloned and put into every medical school to re-educate doctors with correct information about health. He is brilliant, and a gem of a person to anyone with common sense about how to improve their health in a sustained way. I just love learning from his simple to understand videos..
