Order your copy of The Let Them Theory 👉 https://melrob.co/let-them-theory 👈 The #1 Best Selling Book of 2025 🔥 Discover how much power you truly have. It all begins with two simple words. Let Them. — Have you ever walked away from a conversation feeling dismissed, overlooked, or drained — but you couldn't quite put your finger on why? You're not imagining it. Disrespect is everywhere, and often, it’s so subtle that you don’t realize it’s happening until it’s already taken a toll on your confidence, energy, and peace of mind. In today’s episode, Mel breaks down 6 sneaky ways people are disrespecting you every day — at work, in relationships, even within your own family — and, more importantly, exactly what to do about it. Whether it’s someone constantly talking over you, dismissing your feelings, or always running late (yep, that’s disrespectful, too), you’ll learn how to respond in a way that protects your energy and commands the respect you deserve. If you’re tired of feeling unseen, unheard, or undervalued, this is the episode for you. A lot of people take advantage of good listeners, they chew up 95% of the convo, and when you want to speak, they don't give you the same courtesy to listen back. These people are self-centered. Walk away when you can!

I cut people out of my life for these behaviors after I addressed them respectfully and they continued to bulldoze and ignore and cross boundaries. I have zero room in my life anymore for one way disrespectful relationships. ❤❤❤

I had a family member who was ALWAYS late. One Christmas (which is held at my home), this family member knew that dinner was being served at 1 pm. When the time came, I called everyone to the table and we began to enjoy the meal. The late one was very surprised that we didn’t wait for them to begin the meal. They were NEVER late to my house ever again! Didn’t even have to say a word about it!

I hate when you finally stand up for yourself and then everyone thinks you're the bad guy.

“Stop crying or I’ll give you something to cry about “ was a comment I heard a lot as a child.

I’m a 44 year old woman, crying, as I listen to you say, “YOU, validate your feelings”… you know what? You’re right.
