4th story, TBH, as someone with a life-threatening allergy I would actually much MUCH prefer someone be honest and tell me they don't want to change everything about themselves and their habits just to date me. I actually get it. I actually would not be offended if someone did that.
I literally asked my now husband if he was allergic to peanuts on our first date. Peanut butter is a staple and i was going to damned if i let anyone get in the way. Sooo i totally get where op is coming from
On the peanut allergy, you forgot to mention the dog. You can say he chose the dog, too.
Fourth Story, NTA: OP is being very considerate and not wasting her time. OP doesn’t want to give up something which is fine. Also, the date could’ve been cancelled for any reason. OP's friend's coworker simply couldn’t handle being rejected
First story: 5/5 no doubt. His kids will likely never speak to him again when they’re able
You're allowed to stop seeing someone for any reason
The peanut allergy story. He's not a douche. His dog loves peanut butter!! Dog or girl? Dog is always gonna win. He's a keeper in my eyes! ❤
If you can recognize that you like peanut butter more than you like someone then you're doing them a favor by not continuing to see them.
Third Story, NTA: Literally what OP's dad said when OP told him he already has three grandkids (It wouldn’t be the same) shows that the family would treat the kids differently. Hell, him stating he wished OP gave him a "proper grandchild" further indicates that he would treat the kids differently
10:50 I have loved peanuts my whole life, but I only just met you. Because you are allergic to something I love, we are incompatible. No need to be immature about it. People decide to not have relationships with other people based on income, weight, height, attractiveness, and so on. Those reasons seem pretty arbitrary in comparison to me wanting to eat a food that can kill you. Why would I plan to give up this food and change my life for someone I only just met and I'm not even sure I like like that?
