I did not generate this AI image in the thumb. I pulled it from Google. I did use a few AI images for thumbs in the past, but I now try to avoid it. Using an AI girl in this thumb felt appropriate since the story is about an AI girl.
Story 1 is why sometimes people think they’re in love with their therapist. It’s called “unconditional positive regard.” You know nothing about the other person, they only show acceptance, caring, validation, they listen and explore things with you. There’s no opposition, personal needs, arguments or even facts about the person on the other side. Some people who struggle with emotional intimacy confuse being listened to and validated with love. Eek
Honestly, Rslashs comparison of Ai to you talking to yourself in a mirror is spot on.
Casual reminder that a man officially married a character in a dating sim for the Nintendo DS, complete with an official wedding, and is still married to them to this day. Edit: Since this got so much attention I'll add some more details. The man's online name was SAL9000 and the character he married was Nene Anegasaki from _Love Plus._ They were married in October 2009 at the Tokyo Institute of Technology with 40 real guests in attendance. It was watched by more than 3,000 people on Nico Nico Douga (the Japanese equivalent to YouTube). SAL also went on record after the wedding saying that even if an updated game in the series is released, "I think I'll probably continue playing Love Plus. I won't cheat." Also Nene is technically listed in-game as a senior in high school and SAL9000 was 27 at the time.
Story 1 is so dangerous and telling for the future. Rslash, your whole point of it being a yes man is why it’s so effective, there’s no conflict and it’s easier to fall in love with something that doesn’t ever challenge you and tells you exactly what you want 100% of the time than anything that ever challenges you
In the second story, who knew that the kid took a black widow spider before RSlash said it.
Lol I love the spider story. I have my own I had to share. When I was a little girl my mom was determined to make sure I wasn't afraid of bugs. So she'd take me on "bug hunts" with nets, jars, everything. Well you could say this all backfired pretty spectacularly. One day I was playing in my mom's friend's backyard & I found a NEST of Baby Black Widows. My first instinct was "these look really cool! I'm going to plunge my hand in & let them crawl all over me!". And that's exactly what I did. Proud of my new little passengers & thinking my mom would be impressed I happily skipped over to them where they were chilling on the side yard talking. When I trotted up covered in at least a dozen or more baby black widows, it took them a second to realize it wasn't ants on me. They gently told me my new friends had to go back to where I found them & had me take them to where I found my spiders. They somehow managed to pick most of them off of me without any of us being bit. Then I was promptly hosed down to blast off any they missed. They explained to me after that those are not to play with. Didn't make me any less sad when I learned they destroyed the nest the next day. As an adult, I couldn't even dream of doing this lol. But black widows are still my favorite spiders.
"The fairy was black..." Wait is this... "...with long legs..." No no no no "...and a red spot." NO NO NO NO NO!
RSlash pointing out how people "marry" body pillows just reminds me of those silly fake "Marriage certificates" me and my friends used to generate way back in the late 2000s where you could "Marry" fictional characters. Gods, those were the days. I miss the old internet so much.
In Arizona there was some kind of tiny little bug by our front door. I asked my dad, "does it bite?" He said no so I picked it up and it pinched tf out of me. Then my dad goes " but it might pinch" and giggled lol
