I wasn’t planning on commenting, but maybe someone here needs this. For the longest time, I felt like I was running on empty—my body exhausted, my mind scattered, always feeling just a little off without knowing exactly why. I tried so many things—vitamins, different routines—but nothing seemed to bring me back to center. Then I stumbled across The Hidden Herbs by Anette Ray, and it felt like reconnecting with something ancient and forgotten. Learning about the healing plants that have been quietly supporting us for centuries—it gave me not just remedies, but a sense of grounding I didn’t know I was missing. It’s not about quick fixes or miracle cures; it’s about remembering the wisdom that’s always been there. If you’re feeling worn out, disconnected from yourself, maybe this is the gentle reminder you need too.
Thomas really taking one for the team extending his 30 day chocolate experiment for us hahahaha
I consume a lot of dark chocolate, what would really be a service to us is have the top organic and better brands tested for heavy metals
I find it easier to put one heaping tablespoon of 100% cocoa powder in my protein shake. It is somewhere between 500 and 720 mg of polyphenols.
Vindication for me being a devout and practicing chocoholic
Epicatechin, a compound found in chocolate and green tea, is thought to be a myostatin inhibitor. Myostatin is a protein that regulates muscle growth, and its inhibition can lead to increased muscle mass and strength.
Period!! He said I can have cake for breakfast! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I felt it was a right decision my whole life!
Nitric oxide production is *stimulated* by dark chocolate. But dark chocolate does not actually contain nitric oxide. Also, note that there are considerable differences in the amount of flavonals in cocoa than in dark chocolate.
Cacao trees tend to grow in regions with higher natural concentrations of cadmium and lead in the soil. These are readily taken up by the roots and incorporated into the beans. Drying and handling of the beans, especially in 3rd world regions where most cacao beans are produced, can further increase their lead content through contaminated dust or soil. In October '23, "Consumer Reports" tested 28 dark chocolate bars and found cadmium and lead in all of them, the highest levels being in the darkest chocolate. Given these facts, I would not be eating dark chocolate every day! It's probably okay to consume the occasional chocolate as a treat but daily consumption over time is likely to be quite dangerous to one's health.
