I'm back to keto after ruining my body for 3 years....wish me luck
I started Keto after contracting extreme Covid in December of 2018 before we knew all about Covid. I almost died and made "a bargain" w/ God. Let me live and I i would change my life and lifestyle. Change I did. I began with Keto and in a year I lost 98 lbs. I maintained for over a year then my husband died from an accidental boating trip. I spiraled outta control into depression and gained it all back + some. Today, Im sitting here remembering my "bargain" with The Lord and resolving myself of all guilt, shame and lost ambition. I have to get started again and I say it starts today. Healing. For both inward trauama which will lead outward. Blessings.
Been Keto for 7 years now after losing 150lbs. I only use 2 teaspoons of Allulose per day. I eat a 20/4 intermittent fasting. I eat ALL Whole Foods. My dessert is always Greek Yogurt with dark unsweetened chocolate and a teaspoon of Allulose. My proteins are ground beef, sardines, salmon, and very rarely chicken for a change of pace. I will add a sweet potato or chickpea pasta in for a day if I get too cold (I get cold on Keto). I currently weigh 170lbs - ripped to shreds. I walk my dogs daily for exercise and once a week weight workout. I did not have to do a lot of cardio. I take a multi, CoQ10, & Magnesium daily as supplements. I had open heart surgery 3 years ago to replace my aortic valve. I had a 5mm hole in it due to endocarditis. I also have Hemochromatosis which has damaged my liver with fibrosis. I require quarterly blood treatments for the rest of my life. After each treatment I eat liver to bring my hemoglobin back up. I found slow smoking the liver on the grill with onion & garlic powder tastes the best to me.
KETO + OMAD was the ONLY thing that pulled me out of obesity. I no longer do KETO, but I'm still fairly low carb and eat whole food sources w/protein as KING. I vary my fasts and throw in a long one every now and then. I lift (HEAVY) 4x a week and calisthenics 1x week.

I gave up almond milk and switched to real dairy. I feel so much better.Less aches and pains

Erythritol sparks an otherwise silent craving noise. I do without if the only alternative. I started low carb in the late 90’s. MCT oil was impossible to find and required refrigeration. I could only dream of finding frozen riced cauliflower. Food combining was also trending, old folks know that Somercizing (yes, Suzanne Somers) followed those principles in the early 00’s. Search out her old cookbooks, her recipes are very clean and very good. She even sold waffle irons to make her ‘bread’, pre-Chaffle.
Oxalates can cause stones too.
I am starting back. Solid focus. Got off the keto/ low carb for way too long. Focused. Warm weather coming soon to Chicagoland. Ready to get back at it.
