Great content. My only constructive feedback is that I doubt that this works that well with truly toxic people, like narcissistic people and so forth. They don't do 'social reciprocity' or mutual respect well.
my favorite thing to do when someone is venting is to ask “do you want a solution or support?” or “do you want my opinion or comfort?” and it has been so helpful as someone who usually gives more “solution” based responses. i love that you guys touched on that.
Started listen to this podcast on Spotify 75%of the time I will complete but I love watching Mel Robbins engage the way she listens her body language says she's right here with her guest truely focused on every word and response ❤️
This is so helpful and needed! When Charles says, "You never have to have a conversation you don't want to have," how do you have a needed, important, productive convo with a HUGELY avoidant person who chooses to stick their head in the sand instead of adulting?
Some people I’ve just really given up on talking to, and my life is better for it
Mel is always throwing the right and practical questions. Love it!
Such an important topic! Remembering the relationship is more important than the content is hard, but necessary.
Love this! My only (raised by a librarian) negative comment is: when you hold a completely opposite opinion from another person, it’s diametrically opposite, not diabolically…
I will be around a difficult person this morning, so I’m here for this ;)
We need an episode on estranged families and how to repair them
