100kg runner with leg issues, however, am now using gel nimbus 26. So comfortable and certainly helped with the recovery. Been a great addition. Purchased recently for £150 from Cotswold using my Veterans Card.
Just stopped in to say Brooks Glycerin Max and you can end the video. Thanks.
That's cute, he's talking about "recovery" runs-I just want to get through my Run itself with being sore for a week🤓
Buying new trainers is like waiting for my mortgage renewal quite scary prices and can’t understand why
I'm quite new to running. I ran a little towards the end of 2023 and start of 2024. I got back into it in November and I've really been enjoying it. I've been running between 15 and 20kms every week and I have a 5k next weekend and a 10k the following weekend. My biggest issue with shoes right now is my weight and my wife feet. I am 6ft, 145kgs (320pounds), down from 175kgs. I have really struggled to find wide fit shoes and the easiest brand in South Africa to get wide fir models is new balance. I have bought a pair of More V4 and 1080v14. Both are great but I am absolutely eating through the more V4s. The ware on the sole runner and midsole after just 35kms is quite scary. If I get 150km from them, I'd be surprised. My 1080s are holding up much better, but after 8km into a run I can feel the midsole getting a little soft under foot and my feet start hurting. I really need a shoe that will hold up to my weight better. A firmer midsole and more durable outsole (or just more of it). It's such a pitty that brands like Puma and Adidas don't cater well for wider feet people.
The Superblast 2 is just too damn narrow with no wide option. This is why I had to go with the Glycerin Max instead.
Great recap - I wear the Brooks Glycerin Max and the Asics SB2 and you ranked them perfectly!
Brooks Glycerin Max...the best of the best.
The superblast 2 is just so good to my legs, I hardly wear my supercomp trainer 2s now…
Just retired my New Balance More v4, just ordered the Puma MagMax, can't wait to take them for a spin. The NB was a real joy to run in, but looking forward to a little more responsiven of a ride, and I found the Pumas for just over $100 USD so the price couldn't be beat.
