As high school earth science teacher, I always love how you explain complex mathematical calculations and astronomy concepts in a way I can understand. Then, I can share with students.

Echoing others here: Charles Liu is my favorite Startalk guest. I would love to listen in on one of his classes.

If galaxies were already forming so soon after the Big Bang, what does that make you feel about your place in the universe?

Hi Neil & Chuck, I’m an 85 year old New Yorker, born & raised in East Harlem (living in California). Always loved visiting the Museum of Natural History & it was my son’s favorite place to go as a child, & an adult. Just love Startalk, even though I’m not very well scientifically educated. I learn a little more every time I tune in. Shows you’re never too old to learn something new. And every day you learn something new, is worth getting up for. Thank you for helping me keep my brain alert (most of the time😅)

Current update from 2months into the future: I believe we got a record-breaking 14.7 galaxy discovered recently, so Dr. Liu's prediction is accurate (source from Dr. Becky).

what i like about tyson is he usually lets ppl talk, but interjects when he feels like there's a concept that needs simplified or clarified. he's always keeping the average listener in mind, and tries to make science (even advanced science) accessible and digestable for everyone. he's had some super smart ppl on, and sometimes they'll be explaining things that are probably very simple for them, but to ppl like me, make no sense. so it's nice to have certain terms or ideas broken down (and sometimes re-stated by tyson) so that dummies like me can still enjoy the conversation

I do not pretend to fully understand the details of this conversation. However, there are 2 cool things about this conversation. 1. They are speaking the language and process of science. Questions lead to confirmations and/or more questions. The philosophy of science. 2. Nothing gives me more joy than listening to geeks geeking out and loving it!
