This is just a note about the Lakanto organization and their superlative customer service. Two years ago, I purchased jars of 2 of their nut butter spreads on Amazon. I found these spreads to be intensely sweet, and frankly I couldn't consume them, despite my own sweet tooth. I left a review on Amazon, and to my amazement, a Rep from Lakanto saw my review, and on their own initiative, reached out to me letting me know they were processing a full refund. Note: I never requested a refund, in fact I never expected one. (BTW, I see that those products have been discontinued.) Lakanto is a trustworthy manufacturer who stands behind their products and cares about there customers, which is a rarity these days. I will be checking out the products Thomas recommended in his video.

I'm a diabetic who wears a Dexcom sensor. I sometimes take too much insulin and have to correct by ingesting quick carbs. I have a list of fast carbs that do the job the quickest. Dates are on that list along with grapes/raisins and watermelon. So while the research may show what you are presenting, I can assure you that dates are NOT an alternative that a diabetic would want to use. My guess is, without looking up that research directly, is that they did it in healthy people, so the difference is in the diabetic themselves - probably more of the enzymes that break down complex carbs so that inhibition doesn't really slow them down much at all.

Why do I think it's funny that Thomas is always in a random kitchen?

I keep dried medjool dates in my house always. It's the only sweet treat I have aside from an occasional Clementine or apple.

I really love dates ... especially Medjool dates, so I am loving the content in this video ... thank you for focusing on it! I'm actually fresh out of them right now, but I do also have coconut sugar. I haven't really used it all that much, though (but after this video, I'll feel more comfortable doing so). I must have bought it for a recipe a while back, but I've kind of gotten away from trying to add foods that taste sweet into my diet. Plus, I plan on doing a modified carnivore diet until September, but due to circumstances not entirely beyond my control, I can't really say that I've gone too carnivore just yet. Nevertheless, videos like this help us make better choices, so thank you for taking the time to compile this information and produce a video like this, Thomas. I have found it very interesting!
