The RDA of Mg has little meaning for me. At 78, I have been running for 53 years now and run 2500-3000 miles per year. I take about 1000 elemental mg of Mg per day mostly as Mg glycinate with some as Mg citrate and some as Mg ascorbate. I eat a healthy diet, take a lot of other supplements, and at 78 I am living the life of a 35 year old. In fact my athletic app tells me I am in the top 1% of all athletes of all ages for miles run. Many days my sodium intake is 4000 mg of sodium to prevent hyponatremia as I drink as much as 2 gallons of water per day in the excessive heat in the Mojave Desert where I live and run (120°F last summer). So recommended averages have little meaning for me.

"The chlorophyll molecule consists of a central magnesium atom surrounded by a nitrogen-containing structure called a porphyrin ring." That's the leafy green connection.

>>IMPORTANT<< Magnesium is also nature’s defense against aluminum toxicity. Just like crops grown in magnesium depleted soils experience aluminium toxicity, so do we.

I’m taking 2000 mg of magnesium l-threonate every other day - half dose in morning and other at night. My diet fills in the blanks on the other days. It helps with my sleep quality— but makes me thirsty.

To be consistent you should also have specified how much of magnesium glycinate is absorbed.

It seems like labels on these supplements have changed considerably since at least 2023. They used to say 500mg each for magnesium citrate. Then one would assume they're getting 500mg of magnesium, but they aren't. Now the labels say these exact same pills only contain a 3rd of that amount and even then, only 112mg of elemental magnesium. I feel like I've been ripped off and lied to over the last 13 years of taking them.
