Instead of “sit all day and add some movement,” think of it as “move all day and add some sitting.” Humans are built to spend most of their day moving, with short periods of rest—not the other way around.

I love Thomas’s video posts; very informative. But honestly… they’re increasingly becoming more and more unnecessarily long winded. And he is not the only one! There are many well informed, educated health/ wellness/ fitness gurus online, and they’re wonderful. However, they need to get to the point. YouTube should “cap” recording times per post. If they need to do a 15 minute post in order to say …. “Move more and sit less, you’ll lose body fat” then they can do it in 3 separate videos. I promise you, they will streamline their material and become more concise and respectful of the consumer/ viewer’s TIME.

Titles like this always pull me in 😅 but I feel like there’s never one magic answer. Recently I’ve been exploring more women-focused approaches and Eat.Like.a.Woman.Protocol by L. Green had some interesting ideas around food timing and habits that actually felt practical.

Every time you go to the bathroom, do calf raises, stretch, etc. It's a start. Do what you'd do on a long haul flight! Thank you Thomas for always bringing in the latest info. Science is constantly evolving and yes, it will contradict itself as new studies are done. I'm very glad to get it here on your channel 🙏🙂😊

I always attributed my leanness to being a fidgeter. And I enjoy getting stuff done while moving -no gym for me. No jogging or running. I like being productive: habitat restoration, road maintenance, gardening. I have always been the fix-it person in my family. In graduate school I maintained and repaired the '49 Chevy sedan that my grandmother gave me. Cars were less complex back then (I am 75). I do sneak in some high-intensity bursts of energy -running up stairs, etc.
