In my experience, the best way to lose fat (from obese) is by 1. Caloric deficit, 2. Walk, Walk, Walk, for 1 hour min, (The Distance will increase automatically as you lose weight and become more agile) 3. Minimum 2 days of strength training per week, I have lost my excess weight using this only, going from 120Kg to 77Kg, (I am 5'9") took me 2 years, The only challenge a person will face is their will power, and ability to be motivated during a bad time, it's more of a mental challenge than a physical pain.

I discovered this after a hard 4-6 week cut. I very slowly "reversed diet", which is the addiiton of 100 calories he mentions. Goign slowly helped me not binge and regain all the lost fat. I tracked meticulously and noticed I was (over time) eating a lot more. I continued to liftas hard as ever, did some modest elliptical cardio, but mostly walking/step counting as he references. By then end of another 5-6 weeks,I was eating at least 1000 more calories and maintaining my weight! I was amazed. I now do as he suggests and my version is to alternate a week of lower intake with a week of maintenance. This seems to keep my metabolism burning and I am easily dropping 2 pounds of fat each low calorie week! The best part is I no longer have to drop to starvation levels(1,00-1200), but a much easier 1600-1700 to get the job done, while maintaining a better body composition. All that to say: HE'S RIGHT!
