Seriously. I did keto initially to lose weight (which I did) BUT I was shocked it cured me of my depression, anxiety, and anger issues. SHOCKED how much food impacts mental health.

I have been in total remission and no meds for the last 10 years because of going off gluten, dairy, sugar and processed foods. Basically keto diet with a bit of rice on occasion. I am healthy after 50 years of chronic mental health. I am 75 and doing an art residency full time and very happy.

It's really because of Dr Ede that I'm trying Carnivore. First 9 months I did Keto LCHF (<40 total carbs): Definitely improved my sleep, bipolar 2 symptoms (no meds), mental clarity, energy, IBS in remission. Now trialing Carnivore for 30 days. Why? Because I ate dairy, nuts, veg on Keto LCHF. I wanted to see if going without these foods would give even better results. Today is Carnivore day 5. I'm eating only grassfed beef and canned sardines. Wow! Huge difference! In a Good Way! Today, my ketones 1.5. I woke up after a very good sleep. I drank black coffee and 20oz water with LMNT electrolytes. At noon, I ate 12oz ribeye steak. Then went for a 20 minute walk. OMG, honestly, my mood was euphoric, excellent all day. My energy was extremely high, thank goodness I took that walk. Mental clarity amazing. Ate a can of sardines at 5pm. Slept like a baby. All day today was same. My mood, energy, clarity were "bright"! Went to the gym and did weight training. Still doing the rest of this 30 day trial of Carnivore. So far, what I see is all meat gives me better ketones, much better results. I'm guessing it's because rib-eye and sardines simply give me the best results. At the end of 30 days, I'll see if I want to do another 30 days of Carnivore or go back to Keto LCHF. I weigh 139 lbs, 29 inch waist, reasonable amount of muscle, walk about 10 miles briskly a week, lift weights 2-3 days a week, 72 years old.

I’ve been doing a ketogenic diet after reading Dr. Ede’s book. I must of went too fast because the first month was horrible. I cried all the time for no reason. Once that first month passed I started to feel much better. I’m trying this for anxiety and that constant uneasiness that I always had had has completely left. I’m starting to sleep much better now. I am now off two medications. If I eat fruit, I always eat it with fat and protein and I don’t experience any problems. I eat two meals a day and refrain from having caffeine except occasionally. Grass fed butter in my decaf coffee is heavenly and takes the place of any sweet treats I used to have.
