9/10 times cats don't show their belly because they want to be scratched. They do it because they submit and trust you. It's different with dogs obviously.

If all it takes for a guy to swear off adoption is the mere mention of possible downsides from someone who didn't even experience them first hand, then this guy already had doubts about it.

Breakfast in bed story: i'm pretty sure that "tripped down the stairs" takes the second place of most common reasons for broken bones after "i slipped".

Water bottles at Disney are $4 for Dasani and $6 for Smartwater 😅 if you have the meal plan, one bottle can count as a "snack"!

Not gonna lie, I think I enjoy hearing the little snippets about your in-laws and time in China as much as the stories. Thanks for keeping my mornings interesting!

Adoption story: As someone who works in child welfare, the number of kids on my case load who are back in the system after Adoption because the parents were not prepared, or didn't listen to the warnings about it not being the idealized fantasy they have in their heads, is appalling. Adoption is hard. Adoption from foster care is harder. Those kids go through trauma, and you don't always know what is going to trigger it or how it will present itself. On top of that, the system does the best it can with what it has, but it's not a perfect system, and the process can drag out for an obnoxious amount of time.

I've worked at Disney World. Yeah, they can afford losing a few water bottles. I was there when they switched normal sized bottles for smaller ones to sell at the same price.
