I have suffered with tinnitus for 17 years and since August 10 of this year I began to loose hearing of my left ear unexplainedly. I didn't know how sad that was to me until I watched this episode. I regulate my emotions by trusting God and by using music. There is nothing that can separate me from God's "voice" but it is terrifying to think about not being able to sing or hear music anymore. Thank you for educating me on the wonderful gift of hearing! This episode gave me hope.

I’m a drummer and have been in drumlines in high school and college and have listened to loud metal music most of my life. There’s a movie called The Sound of Metal that follows a punk drummer’s journey of hearing loss, and it was so striking and terrifying that I no longer go to concerts or loud events without earplugs, and I listen to music as quietly as I can. You can’t get it back and it’s scary to think about life without music

I mistakenly thought this would be an adult conversation. I’m about nine minutes in, completely engrossed, fascinated. Dr Stankovic’s passion and enthusiasm is infectious.

Dear dr. Huberman, I'm so happy that you covered this topic. Being also an ENT specialist and an ear surgeon, I have commented earlier that it would be a fantastic topic to cover. Now this interview sheds light on this extremely important topic. Thank you again for the wonderful work of making science accessible to everyone!
