She's only interested in him insofar as he represents a potential future lifestyle she could have. So the attraction is limited to how willing, eager, and compliant he is to help her acquire her desired future lifestyle as well as his demonstrated capacity to achieve it. If his desired future lifestyle is not the same as hers, he must learn to sacrifice it for her.

Personally I think women go for the exotic stories more, because they want to be or feel desired, which is usually the storyline. Men on the other hand would prefer to cut to the chase and go straight to the sex.

Overall men are visually stimulated so they are drawn to porn whereas women are more mentally stimulated so they are drawn to romance novels because they can use their imagination and sometimes (maybe even often) they put themselves in the role of the protagonist woman.

Ok gentleman, let me give you the low down. I am married to a woman that loves the romantasy porn novels. She, like a lot of women, likes the enemy to lover theme. She also likes the powerful or rich man that can be with whatever woman he wants but only one woman can settle him down. She also likes the "reverse harem" (one woman with 3 or 4 devoted men). She also likes vampires, gods, werewolves, and other creatures. But what I've learned from listening to some of the audio books with her on our car rides is that it's the passion of the relationship and connection that really gets her juices flowing. After discovering how she likes some of these things I've adjusted my approach a bit and, not all the time, but some times, I get more rough and aggressive and take what I want. She's enjoyed it. I think women suppress a lot of what they desire and have a hard time expressing to their man what they want because they don't know how we'll react. But, taking the time to learn about the things that turn her on hasn't hurt our relationship.
