I've started my sardine diet & even though I've been on a keto/carnivore diet since April 2023, I've not been in deep ketosis in a long, long time. So, yesterday I was on day 4 of a sardine fast (Season brand in olive oil) & I awoke on that morning for the 1st time feeling fabulous like never before! I was mentally clear & on the go, Wow! I had no brain fog for the first time in years! Anyway, I had my first meal at 1pm, 2 cans of sardines. Within an hour or two I started feeling light headed & soon the do-do hit the fan. I got the worst hypoglycemia! Unfortunately I had difficulty pulling out of it for a couple of hours & was feeling less than great for the rest of the day. I did have to break the fast (I had a totilla & chic veg soup), but I'm back at it today. I think my blood-sugar just fell too fast; my CGM doesn't show blood-sugar below 70, but my ketones were 2.7! My blood-sugar was 90 all the night before which is low for me! But it was 90-72 before the hypoglycemia. I guess if I get a blood-sugar less than 80 I have to be careful. Wish me luck.

I have visceral fat. I'm 30 lbs. overweight. I have trouble sleeping most nights. My cortisol gets me up at 4-5 am. This time of year, the sun doesn't show up for another 3 hours. I'm afraid that I'll be eating sardines for a while. Tastes okay...smells disgusting. My wife doesn't come near me when I'm eating them. I also think about water fasting, but at age 75, I'm afraid of losing lean body tissue, which is very hard to maintain at this age. I've learned that sarcopenia is a real thing these last few years.
