Airport gyms are symbolic, not systemic. If we want real impact, fund walkable neighborhoods, daily PE, employer-supported movement, and insurance incentives for activity. Health happens on normal days , not travel days.
Let's start with basics, I haven't flown on airplanes for 20 years. Start at home with our food. Our clothing, etc...
i would really like a nature funding. like spend money on good quality natural trails and parks all around the country for people to want to go out and explore and connect with nature. hiking is my favorite activity, and I believe that if everyone tries it out, they will also love it.
For me, travel days tend to have more steps than average (office) work days. But that may be because I try to take public transportation to and from the airport, and I’d rather roam around the airport than wait in one place for more than an hour. As others have mentioned, if these mini-gyms end up being small rooms in a place most people won’t notice them, they will probably not be used by the most sedentary travelers.
