This is why I'm still hopeful. Sign up for my newsletter: https://www.paulsaladinomd.co/sign-up?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=VIDEOID Find out your ideal diet with my Animal-Based Calculator: https://www.paulsaladinomd.co/ab-guide#calculator?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=VIDEOID --- --- --- I had the privilege of spending time with Secretary Kennedy and Secretary Duffy as the DOT announced a new initiative to bring gyms into U.S. airports. This is a $1B grant program that airports across the country can apply for to build real spaces for people to move while they travel. The problem is that airports, and travel in general, are one of the most sedentary experiences in American life. Think about it: the traffic getting there, the waiting, the long flights… hours and hours without movement. And we know that being sedentary is not good for us. Even 1 hour of inactivity can lead to vascular dysfunction at the level of the endothelium (PMID: 25137367, 27443851). And studies have shown that 2-3 hours of inactivity leads to a rise in inflammatory markers (PMID: 31562947, 22176839, 28323950). Imagine having a place to actually move your body before a flight or during a layover. This is the kind of change that can meaningfully improve health for millions of travellers. If you want a mini-gym in your airport, send this to your local airport and share this with your friends and family. Please help us make mini-gyms in airports a reality in hundreds thousands of airports across the country! --- --- --- If you can't get fresh heart & liver in your diet, try our 100% grass-fed desiccated beef organs at Heart & Soil: https://shop.heartandsoil.co/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=VIDEOID Looking for a healthy and delicious snack? Many people don't fly much. Many not even once a year. Its what we do each day that will make a difference not the few times we sit at a airport. But yes if you are there get up and do someithng

Airport gyms are symbolic, not systemic. If we want real impact, fund walkable neighborhoods, daily PE, employer-supported movement, and insurance incentives for activity. Health happens on normal days , not travel days.

Let's start with basics, I haven't flown on airplanes for 20 years. Start at home with our food. Our clothing, etc...

i would really like a nature funding. like spend money on good quality natural trails and parks all around the country for people to want to go out and explore and connect with nature. hiking is my favorite activity, and I believe that if everyone tries it out, they will also love it.

For me, travel days tend to have more steps than average (office) work days. But that may be because I try to take public transportation to and from the airport, and I’d rather roam around the airport than wait in one place for more than an hour. As others have mentioned, if these mini-gyms end up being small rooms in a place most people won’t notice them, they will probably not be used by the most sedentary travelers.
