As a polyglot this movie has my absolute favorite linguistics joke of all time. When Jackson is about to tell the story about how the people became enslaved he's asked "I thought you didn't speak the language?" and he replies "Oh, it's easy once you know the vowels." Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs are only the consonants, we have no idea what the vowels are so they have to take their best guesses on what a shockingly large amount of stuff is actually saying. I can guarantee that joke goes over 99.999% of audiences heads but it still cracks me up.

Stargate SG-1 has over 200 episodes but it's absolutely brilliant. Richard Dean Anderson as Jack O'niell and Michael Shanks as Daniel Jackson have just some of the best chemistry on television and the show delivers with both sci-fi action and a hefty dose of laughs.

"Oh...he's going to put her in the "bring-her-back-to-lifer" thingie!" My absolute favorite new Cassie euphemism. 😁

Richard Dean Anderson's portrayal of the character is awesome because while he is funny and goofy the majority of the time, there are moments where he gets deadly serious and you can sense it. He's a very underrated actor.

So it's set just between Brendan Fraser finding the Mummy and Harrison Ford finding the Ark of the Covenant. Busy times in Egypt.

"So this guy created Earth, they're saying?" Not quite. He _discovered_ Earth and its humans and found out that his technology could repair human bodies quite easily, so he transferred his dying self into a human body to become effectively immortal. He then ruled over the Egyptians, and he kidnapped a bunch of them and brought them to this new planet to mine its ore for him -- but when he was away, the Earth humans rebelled and made their gate inoperable, which prevented him from being able to return to Earth.

The "high priest" in the village also portrays the head librarian in Cairo in The Mummy with Brendan Frazier and Rachel Weisz

During the entire 10 seasons of stargate there was this special bond/relation between Daniel Jackson and Jack O'neill. It made the series stand out for me and i'm a huge fan till this day. ❤😥
