r/Relationships Best Friend Stole My Wife AND Girlfriend
Chronicling Dual Relationship Disasters: Mutual Betrayal and Engineered Loyalty Tests
Discover how hidden entanglements between mutual friends destroyed one marriage and how a calculated digital loyalty test shattered a second committed relationship. Learn precisely what triggers constitute absolute relationship breaking points.
Short Summary
- The initial story details widespread infidelity involving OP’s best friend, Judas, targeting OP’s wife (Leah) and his cousin’s fiancée (Phoebe).
- The following story centers on Becca creating a fake social media account to test her boyfriend’s fidelity.
- The critical takeaway is identifying when relationship insecurity crosses the line from understandable anxiety into unforgivable deception and boundary violation. This document analyzes two complex submissions from Reddit regarding severe relationship sabotage. The first explores complex cheating involving a close friend group over several years, culminating in the original poster (OP) ending ties with his wife and the mutual friend. The second submission details a dramatic loyalty test that, despite passing, exposed deeper required steps concerning online impersonation and trust decomposition.

It's the third time I watch this story and I keep thinking "dude, you're not part of a sitcom cast, you can step out of your apartment complex to find dates"
Wait.. Wait... Pheobe told him in the beginning she would have gotten with Judas but he got with Leah instead and OP still got with her? Sir, that should be a red flag as it foreshadowed her getting in contact with Judas.
Story 1: Bro should get a boyfriend to see if his "best friend" will steal him to.
That friendgroup act like they are survivors of a shipwreck on a remote deserted island
I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you have to test your partner to feel secure, you've failed your relationship.
Lol naming him Judas for the story is Diabolical but accurate.
First Story: OP needs to just end it with Phoebe and find better friends who won't keep Judas around or someone like him. Judas is breaking up relationships left and right and OP doesn't know what to do? Phoebe is clearly having an emotional affair with Judas. What I don't get is why everyone else keeps him around knowing he is opportunistic and will jump at the chance of sleep with his friend's partner after the relationship goes south. Why is OP even giving Phoebe a second chance? OP needs to just break up and move on because this relationship sounds dead. She claims to feel lonely but why couldn't she go to other friends? Why specifically Judas? It is clear cut that she is cheating
So not only did Becca lie to and burdened OP with her irrational insecurities but she also slandered her supposed friend and could’ve ruined Sadie’s reputation. Like, imagine if OP exposed “Sadie” for trying to get with her friend’s boyfriend, that would tarnish her image and other relationships and paint her as a homewrecker.
The irony of loyalty testing a good man like Becca did is that no good man is going to put up with that kind of behavior.
Just because you understand why someone is the way they are, doesn’t mean you have to excuse their behaviors.
