I was at 321lbs. I went on a concord grape juice fast where I only consumed 1/2 cup of concord grape juice every hour while I was awake. I did this for 42 days and lost 65 pounds. It appeared that the fat loss was mostly visceral, as my stomach became flat. My wife freaked out when I started the diet, believing, like this video suggests, that the fructose in the juice would cause an increase in visceral fat. She had to confess that she was wrong. It turns out that in 16 hours (at a total intake of 2 quarts of juice) I was consuming 2,080 mg of polyphenols daily, which is 2 to 3 times the amount of polyphenols consumed in a Mediterranean diet.
