What’s truly crazy is, once you read Rethinking Health Secrets you realize how blinded you were, but it’s never too late. That book has some serious knowledge
I feel like it's just always going to be a battle. I'm perimenopausal and have been chronically stressed for 6 months with a divorce, a move, trying to sell a house, and I just lost my job a couple of days ago. Morning coffee is the best part of my day. Trying to do fasting and supplements and hoping for the best.
Took Ashwagandha last night to lower cortisol and improve sleep it WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Slept all night long
0:48 - Cortisol Explained 1:52 - Coffee Upon Waking 2:44 - Undereating 3:45 - Excess Blue Light 5:03 - Poor Sleep 5:40 - Sugar/Salt Cravings 7:09 - 30% Off Your First Order AND a Free Gift Worth up to $60 8:04 - Modulating Cortisol 9:58 - Glycine 11:19 - Carbs at Night 11:53 - Adaptogens
My Lebanese grandmother had a small Arabic coffee around 10-11am, well after breakfast. The coffee is a very small serving in a tiny cup. The Middle East is the home of coffee so I think they've figured that out. A tiny glass of black tea might accompany breakfast, but never caffeine on an empty stomach. If coffee is served in the afternoon it is eaten with dates or roasted nuts, so you're getting some carbs to offset the cortisol. The older I get, the more wisdom I see in my traditional culture, at all the levels.
Focusing on eating for hormone health including cortisol, completely transformed my skin and my physique. I even started looking younger! Thank you so much for this video 💕
I feel like I really needed this vid. No one else really talks about these things. They just say meditate and exercise.
Have had high cortisol, which tells the body to hold onto fat during times of fight or flight. Helpful info. For the algorithm!
This is the issue I’m healing! I started eating higher calories, breakfast first thing and delaying my coffee. I am much more able to fast the end of the day. I’m finally losing inches around my waist and hips while getting stronger and no cravings! With my estrogen lower in my 40s (perimenopause) I’m dealing with a very different system. I’ve learned a lot from Dr. Stacy Sims, working with a nutritionist, and ruling out insulin resistance with a CGM and labs.
