Please, please, PLEASE, for the love of God DO NOT forge a doctor's note. Many employers do check and doctors have to keep thorough notes on every patient they see. If you're found out you will be fired with cause AND you're opening yourself to lawsuits from both your ex-employer and the doctor themselves. Just dont, go and get an official one, its not worth the risk.
Turns out I'm wrong about doctors notes. I didn't know it's illegal. Oops!
Story 5: what rslash is talking about here is considered fraud. countries have registries with the doctor data, and notes CAN be checked. Once in a while i see a case here in Brazil about someone being fired due to this
12:53 Don't listen to Rslash here; what he's describing is fraud and just because not all companies check doesn't mean none of them do. My partner's work absolutely checks.
I had a former employer demand that all doctor's notes state exactly what medical condition we had - HUGELY illegal in Australia. All the note is required to state is that you've seen a doctor & that in their opinion, your medical condition warranted time off. My GP was livid when I told him that our boss expected him to break the law, so I happily gave him my boss's direct number, and I was lucky enough to be nearby when Geoff (my Dr) called & verbally eviscerated him for his audacity. Good times.
A concept that has always confused me is, ' you're fired, now train your replacement!' Why would someone want to help their employer screw them over? and why would and employer trust the person they fired not to screw them over with improper training?
Mom starting a whole uniform revolution with just a needle and thread is peak parenting! School: "You need the logo." Mom: "Challenge accepted." Not only did she maliciously comply, she accidentally dismantled their uniform kickback scheme in the process. Never mess with a mama bear protecting her laundry time! 🧵👕💪
10:44 they also probably committed wage theft, as even if he were salaried, I believe that being on call requires a raise or increase in pay
Don't fraud a Doctor's note, HR can contact the doctor directly and if it's a fake phone number you can get legally reprimanded.
If I walked into my office and the manager told me “those two are your replacements” I would have walked out. No malicious compliance necessary.
