I had a A1C of 8.3 and glucose of 383 and weighed 210 lbs male 50 years old 5’9”. I took charge and did the unbelievably did a true lifestyle change. And it was rough to start. The hardest was those cravings. But with persistence of total health that has quickly changed.8 months later I lost 50lbs no longer on medication and as of my last test I have and A1C is 5.6 and glucose of 88. Now weigh 160 went from a waist of 38 to 31. The best part is all of my chronic pains disappeared and mental state is so much sharper.

I've been using a CGM (Stelo) for the past month and it has been a mind-blowing experience. I knew I likely had insulin resistance to some degree, but using this device has shown me I likely have prediabetes (not officially diagnosed at this time). Regardless, I've taken action over the last couple months (zero added sugar and reduced carbs with intermittent fasting) and my numbers are improving. Long way to go before I'm "in the clear." I'm also experimenting with berberine to help get that fasting glucose down.
While doing a “belly” exam, my doctor said I was too skinny. I responded: I’m only 5’4.5” and I weigh 140 lbs. His response was, I guess most of my patients are overweight. I was prediabetic 12 years ago and had neuropathy in my feet. Metformin helped that… until I ate better, started walking, and lost weight. It’s 19 degrees outside and I pushed myself outside for a 2+ mile walk. My fasting insulin has been 5.1 for many years now — with no meds😊 Maybe 25 years ago my endocrinologist told me it’s not if I’ll be going on insulin — like so many family members — but when. Not!
I am 1.5 yr carnivore/ keto and it is completely sustainable and EASY. I FEEL GREAT! I have slowly gotten off of all of my meds. I had htn and autoimmune and gastro issues. I spend much less on groceries. I do not miss the foods and way of eating that made me sick!!!❤❤❤❤
