Dr Fung was one of the first to be vocal about this, many years ago. He's a brave doctor and stands up with integrity. Integrity is lacking in most doctors, most are bought off by big pharma.
The new inverted food pyramid is a massive win for U.S. public health.
This brought back memories 😅 because I grew up trusting the pyramid completely. I ate how we were told, avoided “bad” foods, and still felt bloated, heavy, and uncomfortable most of my life. I blamed myself for years thinking I just wasn’t disciplined enough. It was exhausting carrying that guilt. In a women’s healing forum I was lurking in, someone casually mentioned Eat like a woman protocol by loren green and how the real issue is food overload, not portions. That changed everything… digestion eased and I dropped 28 lbs.
Now it is time for the healthcare industry to follow suit.
Listening while commenting. I wish the new plan recommended fermented foods (kefir, kimchi, natto, yogurt, etc) as well as mushrooms and sea vegetables.
And yet the American Heart Association refuses to practice it. Talk about antiquated.
They should eliminate those soft drinks and processed food.
I agree this is great news, I feel vindicated because I’ve been following your advice and eating like this for years. But even better… now it will (hopefully) be implemented in schools, hospitals, nursing homes, etc.
I've been living this new pyramid for 7 years
Ten years ago I was called obsessed, compulsive and my family even questioned my sanity. My family almost deserted me. Personally, I thought my health was more important. I was 50lb overweight, high blood pressure and type 11 diabetes. My research brought me, amongst others, to The Obesity Code (for which I thank you). For ten years my weight remains 50lb less and both blood pressure and type II reversed. It took a while, but my wife eventually followed my guidance and has lost 84lb of weight and maintained it. The new code is a major step in the right direction. UPF must be eliminated.
