I drank from 15-50. Stopped cold turkey 17 years ago. After 2 day hangovers and recurring blackouts I decided I had to quit. One of the best things I’ve ever done. I now use small amounts of cannabis, exercise, diet, books, and mindfulness. Life is good!

Giving up alcohol 5 1/2 years ago was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Better brain clarity & better recovery after hard workouts

I’m 58 now and I’m off alcohol. I don’t drink soda and I’m eating sooooo much better these days. I’m a lot happier too. I don’t mind getting older. I’ve found a lot of peace the last few years. Life is good.

I think most of us guys who recently turned 60 realize the time on the clock is dwindling down. Not in a bad way but a time for reflection. How many friends have we lost , how quickly time flies by. Wasn’t it just yesterday I was in my twenties? Being thankful and full of gratitude is where I’m at. It’s not money it’s not material crap. It’s my friends my family. It’s sharing memories no matter how many times you tell the same story.

For a minute or two I was having a hard time listening to Laird. But then I realized he doesn’t use buzzwords and cliches so what you’re listening to is one man’s real experience and understanding. Huge respect!!

69 here; drank from 16 til 67. Drinking didn’t interfere overtly with my life but in my late 50s developed stomach issues out of the blue, food sensitivity, etc. I cleaned up my diet- and because of pre diabetes, eliminated sugar. Doing so with alcohol was the last step. And it was so FUCKING EASY!!!! And I was an EVERYDAY beer drinker. I had heard decades of stories of “how hard” it is and that WASNT my experience at all. IF I didn’t have stomach or gastrointestinal issues I’d still do it…but just FEELING BETTER since quitting has made me not want to risk it.

I started going to Catholic mass every Sunday 5 years ago and now I’m also able to control my drinking way better. Jesus saved me like he can save all sinners.
