This is the best overview of keto I’ve come across in the 9 years I’ve been keto. Rule 10 is essential and my version: “quiet keto”. I’m so stealthy people who have known me for years have no idea I eat very few carbs. They used to ask me what my secret is (my life improved drastically) but I stopped talking about keto because it’s too explosive a topic. Folks would rather take GLP1 or simply believe we get fat and tired as we age than give up bagels and pie. And so be it.

the best things about keto is I don't get sleepy after eating and I don't crave sweets, and believe me I had a sweet tooth, when you do eat sweets after doing keto for a while is not good anymore is just too sweet.

I’m in my 9th year. I’m 57 and “should” be struggling with weight, sleep, energy and mood… except I’m fit AF (despite no gym in 7 years). I just left a spin class and it didn’t wear me out. My poor fat and exhausted doctor wants me on statins except my cas score is zero. Crazy to me that folks think glp1 or surgery or meds are less radical than giving up pie and bagels.

12 years keto and have never been accused of suggesting it to other. People ask me what I eat because I am thin and muscular but unless they ask I don’t mention it

I think we also don't talk enough about the incorporation of resistant starches that are initially lower glycemic already. For example when I want to get some carbs, I slow cook lentils in bone broth and refrigerate them. The combination of proteins, fats and resistant starch is a slow release of glucose, so insulin doesn't massively spike. Furthermore, the fiber is good for the gut. Also, the nutritional profile of the dish contains many of the key nutrients that allow the body to build collagen. A win on many fronts courtesy of resistant starches. Thanks for your content.

This is one of Thomas’s more informative videos with the most important takeaway being that the longer one is Keto Adapted, measured blood ketones decline due to what can be termed “homeostasis nutritional Ketosis” - ketones being efficiently produced at the same rate being consumed and only rise significantly during longer fasts. In fact Keto Adapted veterans who achieved metabolic flexibility for more than a decade have ketone levels at 0.1 mmol/l but can prove they are in nutritional Ketosis required for endurance activities in the fasted state. The ketones then rise only after about 20 hours while exercising in the fasted state. Well done Thomas in raising this awareness as chasing ketones by supplements (unless for Cancer Treatment) or unnecessary excessive fat intake can be detrimental.
