One crucial exercise I do for injury prevention on the joints is the deep resting squat. Everyday, without fail. it made all my past chronic pains disappear (and saved tons of money from therapy and gear)
Comparison is the thief of joy

sleep is also a very underrated factor, training is wasted if we don't give the body rest to rebuild stronger.
bought your half marathon plan and I am the first timer aiming just to finish within 2:30h … on track so far and the race is in 2 weeks time… enjoy your video so far
Comparing yourself to others is so spot on, I am guilty of this but I have changed my perception of this and now seeing activity on Strava I think "great! Well done!" instead of "why can't I run that fast or long?" Great video Ben, A+ quality content lately.

Good advice, as always! May I also offer the old familiar “Rule 0”: Keep it fun! Of course, a speed+distance workout on a hot day isn’t a party. But if you let running become “all work and no play”, you’re missing out. Social runs, travel, new venues or environments, trading stories after the fact, having a good laugh over a foolish mistake - these all keep it light, and help keep it fun. Especially as we get older, and (possibly) more mature.
Overtraining is a real hard thing to push yourself out of.
Lots of good advice! My biggest sin is probably not warming up (or at least not warming up enough) before a run.
