Sleep + food topics always get me 😅 bc i swearrr there was a time i’d wake up tired no mater how long i slept and couldnt figure out why. I used to think it was just stress tbh. Recently came across Eat.Like.a.Woman.Protocol by -L. Green in a women’s discussion and it got me thinking way more about food routines and timing. Curious if anyone noticed sleep changes from eating different?

What most people miss in this conversation is the psychological layer underneath the biology. The brain does not just crave more food after poor sleep because of hormones. It specifically craves high reward foods because a sleep deprived brain seeks dopamine compensation for the energy deficit it cannot get from rest. The body is not just hungry. It is self medicating
Sleep and nutrition don’t just influence each other, they multiply each other. Fix one consistently, and the other gets easier to fix too.
Chew on some hay, sleep all day. Sugar tastes great, stay up late. This ancient saying accurately sums up the fact that I just made that up.
I’m a professional personal trainer in the UK, of which during the client consultation we always look into his or her sleep patterns, regarding excess weight/ body fat reduction planning. Great channel & guest sir 🫡
Huberman, you are my favorite‘science-meathead’! You’ve helped a ton of people man. 💪🏽
Anorexia Nervosa. Last week we said goodbye to our beautiful 30 yr old daughter after a 16yr struggle with this hideous illness. Thank you Andrew for continuing to bring the illness into your discussions. As an Australian parent with significant lived experience I would love to have input to Columbia University’s studies. You do read all the comments Andrew so here goes: Anorexia has been around for 1000s of years. A woman dies somewhere every hour and 10,000 families like mine grieve every year. What if all those families could respond to questions on a global forum so the University can perhaps just maybe find a significant guide that could make all the difference. The technology is there. Let these families suffering in silence have a voice. Every hour counts.
Thank you AH for saying the piece about someone needing to come up with a better solution for sleep apnea because of all the friction associated with getting and using a CPAP. I love how the professions just say ‘wear a CPAP’ and they seem so out of touch about these friction factors.
Ive been eating my entire life and im very successful
