To me, the key is to lower glucose and insulin levels, avoid snacking, and eat whole foods.
I am fat. I have done both keto and GLP-1's and can say they can both work. Mindset has to change no matter what, mindset doesn't change; Nor will your physical being
Thomas... FINALLY. After watching your content pretty regularly all year, you've now just explained something that I absorbed, completely, and that I personally can attest is DEAD ON because you described ME. December 19 I was diagnosed diabetic. Without having any labs drawn for the previous 10 years, who know how long it had been. 350lbs, father of 6 kids and a devoted husband that is the sole earner for the family. What a disaster waiting to happen. A1C of 9.0 and my extremely knowledgeable Nurse Practitioner gave me the talk. We are going to hit this on every single level with every single tool and reverse your metabolic catastrophe. Here's the reason you were describing me. Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) 5mg to start weekly immediately, Testosterone bi-weekly, Vitamin D3 K2 10k iu daily, and Lipo-C shots weekly. All this I do at home. She said your nutrition can change everything, these are only tools to help that process. No seed oils, nothing processed, carnivore or Keto but make it LEAN because if you don't, there's no way the meds will let you get the 200 grams of protein in daily. No pork, no dairy other than grass-fed butter, think lean like flank and filet. Here's the catalyst, get a personal trainer and do 3 days a week. I do HiIT style group training twice a week and personal training lifting once a week. InBody scans since day one, since starting the meds on December 24th, I'm down 70lbs on the weight scale, UP just over 5lbs of skeletal muscle and my constant glucose monitor has logged the progress every day. My average daily glucose for 90 days now is 82! I've dropped so much abdominal fat people can't believe the visual difference of going from a 5x shirt to a 2x shirt in 4 months. I've been also documented by the gym and function health coach the entire time because in his words, no one sticks to the plan like I do. Zero cheats, no magic, just consistent effort. 16/8 or 18/6 fasting daily from the very start. All workouts are in the fasted state. I've done 24, 48 and 72 hour water fasts here and there too. Your video is EXACTLY my experience. Thank you for connecting with me on this subject, your content has been a big part of my understanding while I watch the data of getting healthy in my own life. I'm 47. I'm no longer diabetic NOR pre-diabetic. Muscle is longevity. THANK YOU!
I am doing zepbound and keto. I lost about 70 lbs in 9 months. I now walk about 8,000 steps a day.
Thomas, I have been on GLP ones for 8 months and I combined this with low carb diet basing every meal around protein, walking 10,000 steps a day and weight training twice a week. I’ve lost almost 100 lbs but I can tell you that it was not effortless even with the GLP1 on board.
Alloluse triggers the release of GLP-1 in the body. If you add it to your coffee that has sugar in it, it will not increase glucose.
Fantastic video, Thank you. I am starting Ozempic, my weight has become critical and with sleep apnea and some intense sciatica/back pains I felt like I had to give Ozempic a try. But I would of course love to use the time on ozempic to change my eating habits for the better and not just let go and eat what ever i feel like. And I have always been a strong believer in the ketogenic diet(lifestyle) and did 8 month on it once and felt so good throughout my whole body (especially my irritable bowel syndrome improved a lot)
you are spot on!!! Keto actually pairs perfectly with a low dose Glp1!!
There is no magic pill, and in the case of Ozempic, a magic shot. Weight loss is all about discipline, timing, and meal planning.
Pair both for the win!!
