1. Weight loss depends more on insulin control than calorie counting. 2. Delay breakfast (2–5 hrs) to avoid the dawn effect. 3. Sleep well & reduce stress → lower cortisol & insulin spikes. 4. Stabilize blood sugar: eat protein, healthy fats, veggies; cut sugar & starch. 5. Coffee tip: black coffee alone is fine; avoid with carbs in the morning. I lost 45 pounds in 4 months at age 67. My main reason was to lower my blood pressure that was very high. I did it by changing my diet (cutting out carbs and sugar). My breakfasts consisted of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Avocados and a hard boiled egg and black coffee. I then would go on a 2 and a 1/2 mile walk with my dog, where I tried to jog or run parts of it (I now built up to running the whole way). I then didn't eat again until dinner, where I would have a large salad with grilled chicken or grilled Salmon. Went from 222 pounds down to 175 in four months. Dropped blood pressure from 185 down to 120. I feel 20 years younger, with no more knee pain. Been also doing 5 grams of Creatine and some Electrolytes. The first few weeks were hard and took some self discipline, but then it became habits and just normal for me. Now I am just maintaining the weight I am at, and doing a little strength training (lifting light weights). I had to buy new pants and a new belt.
At 50, I felt invisible. At 60, I feel unstoppable. Menopause humbled me, but it also gave me fire. Don’t let society tell you your worth ends at 50. It doesn’t
In April 2024 I fasted 3 days a week and omad for 5 weeks went from a A1C 14+ to a 5.3 losing 100lbs from 380 to 280!!! Now I have been struggling beteen 5.7 to 6.1 and doing a 2nd reset for 6 months to keep inbetween 4.3 to 5.3. Wish me luck!!
I love when he calls me a health champion 😊
Works. I fast until 10am or so, then have eggs, avocado, some vegetables for brunch. Prioritise protein, cut the carbs, avoid highly processed food. Bit of swimming and cycling lift my mood. Now all my clothes are loose. BMI 23. Feeling great at 74. No meds. People, this works. It works.
In a world packed with people giving advice, I think I'll listen to the guy who's actually lean and fit in middle age.
