My dad who had kidney disease and diabetes had to stop Metformin because it was damaging his kidneys more, so he switched to Berberine which affected not his kidneys and controlled his diabetes and reduced his cholesterol significantly.
Please cover research on dihydroberberine. Is there any difference with regular berberine?
My LDL dropped from 158 to 98, total cholesterol from 213 to 152 and glucose from 105 to 94, after 3 months on 500mg Solaray Berberine, twice per day. I dropped 11 pounds, without changing diet or exercise.

I have also heard a link: the higher the heart disease risk, the higher the LDL cholesterol levels. Which affects which?
Thanks!
