“He’s too self sacrificial” is kinda the best way to describe Peter Parker. It’s the defining trait of every Spider-Man in any universe, the willingness to put all others above oneself. It’s what I wish I had the strength to be, it’s what we could all stand to be more of to make the world a better place. This is why Spider-Man will always be my favourite superhero.
Just a particular detail for those that are still confused or wondering... Everyone in Tom's universe has forgotten who Peter Parker is. But they all know Spiderman exists. All of the chaos, destruction, and the fights that he's been in basically means that the public just knows or is aware of Spiderman, just not who his real identity is. Tony Stark figured out who Peter Parker was after doing some digging in Civil War. But if he was still alive to this point, Dr. Strange's spell would have made him forget Peter entirely but not Spiderman. In an alternate timeline or universe where Tony didn't die in Endgame, maybe there's a chance he would have tried to work out Spiderman's identity again just for kicks or if whenever he deemed necessary. Why am I talking about Tony? Because the fact that after the spell was cast and everyone forgot Peter Parker, it means he can't use his nanotech Iron Spider suit anymore. The Stark technology doesn't recognize Peter as its user anymore, hence that's why he makes his new one from scratch at the end.
Andrew Garfield saving MJ from that fall was just.... catharsis. ♥️
When Tobey tells Andrew's Spiderman that he "is amazing,' it wasn't just a compliment. Andrew is The Amazing Spiderman.
Dafoe is and will always be the best Green Goblin the way his terrifying attitude is what makes him scary. And seeing Tobey again sparked my childhood again
This Spider-Man film really hits on the classic saying "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility". You may be upset about the ending but that is a part of the Spider-Man character. When you're a super hero sacrificing yourself for others all the time you don't get alot of happy endings. Peter didn't want the weight of his burden on Ned and MJs shoulders he wants them to be happy even if that means sacrificing his own happiness. It's like Aunt Mays speech in "Spider-Man 2"; " I believe there's a hero in all of us, that keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble, and finally allows us to die with pride, even though sometimes we have to be steady, and give up the thing we want the most. Even our dreams"
This movie should cement Willem Dafoe's performance as Green Goblin as one of the best villains of all time.
I laughed so hard when Cassie called The Goblin's glider a surfboard.
See Charlie Cox in "Daredevil." He was the blind lawyer with the strangely quick reflexes.
the ending was actually perfect they finally captured the essence of the spiderman character
