india ... 100%
Indians and south Asians have 30% higher rates of diabetes. I’m of Indian origin (in UK) had a healthy, organic diet, gym daily and was diagnosed with diabetes last year. It’s prevalent amongst Indians in India as well as abroad like here in UK. Indian food is half healthy with all the veg and spices and half unhealthy - lots of sweets, deep frying in veg oils, lots of rice and wheat and generally a lot of food - Indians love to eat. But I think there is something in the genetics that makes the body less tolerant to glucose.
Every country is over consuming sugar.
you know why swiss and germany has high blood sugar: Nestle
Saturated fat isn't the enemy. Refined vegetable seed oils are.
India is very high up on the list, but believe it or not it’s not the highest per capita (just the highest overall number based on sheer numbers) Also, for those that just watched until they found out the country, you’re missing out on the really good info that teaches some practical methods in the back half of the video.
Fun facts, (since I'm here on a visit to Monterrey Mexico), it only cost roughly $5 dollars US to see a doctor at the pharmacy. Private practice family doctors start around $15 to$35 for office visit, Private practice specialists may go as high as $80 dollars US. This is without insurance. The massive difference is in the salaries of the workers. Next, prescriptions. In the US, a person needs a prescription for heart meds, blood pressure meds, ED meds, diabetic meds, steroids,......here, no prescription required. Prescription costs are half or less than the US for the same medication. US has high costs because of the middleman - insurance companies.
I am French. Gen X. After a big meal my parents and us would always go for a long walk. And we were pretty active all of us. We ate bread with every meal, pasta, veggies, meat, butter, but none of us have never been overweight. I live in Chile now and I can say there's something in the wheat here that makes you fatter.
The perfect exercise for office workers is the "soleus pushup" (seated heel lifts). It is done sitting down on a chair and can even be done *while* working. It can be done for hours since the soleus muscle doesn't fatigue. It's remarkably effective at lowering blood sugar considering how little effort it require and is the perfect alternative to walking.
Pacific islands like Tonga and Samoa are the greatest rates of obesity so it stands to reason that they also have highest insulin resistance.
