I'm moving to Sardinawa. Lifespan 300 years. 💡
I think too much time is spent looking at the diets of the Blue Zones when it's more their overall lifestyle that makes for longevity especially movement and relationships. A healthy diet is not that complicated.
I'm more so of a beefinian myself
Obviously from eating Sardines… yummy 🐟
My Grandmother lived to 98 at home. Never consumed any of this stuff. Midwest meat and taters diet with some pickled herring occasionally, veggies, fruit in moderation.
In my opinion this has more to do with the low stressful way they live their lives, family and social interactions etc… that’s probably the main factor off longevity
Pecorino Romano is the food containing the highest amount of C-15, according to a comprehensive video on C-15 posted recently by Dr. Nick Norwitz.
me as sardinian i don't think our diet is that great. a lot of pork is eaten here aswell. also i don't find our diet that different from the standard italian diet. yes lots of beer as well as wine is consumed and i don't think either is that healthy, cannonau is more popular depending on the place in the island. my family for example we might drink it few times a year, it it's quite a strong wine, there are local wines of each region that are more popular. also i never heard about mastic oil before. truth be told it's quite common to buy wine and oil directly from the producers same for cheese, or very common to know somebody that produces and go help him and he gives you part of the olive oil in exchange. same with eggs or regular fruit/veggies. that said sardinia is the 2nd largest island of the mediterranean and only 1.5M people live here, also it's one of the least industrialized places in italy. there is a big industrial complex on the south (macchiareddu) where cancer and leukemia rates (even among children) is very high, how can we take that in the picture? my personal belief is that people here live longer because air is less polluted and while i don't have any idea to back it up i believe the water from gennargentu is incredibly healthy i don't know if it's due the soil or what but if you follow that stream of water that's where most longer-living people live (as far as i know). i totally agree about the chill environment, we take it easy (probably too much) and stress level are much less compared even to italy and much much less than a big and industrialized country like USA. of course this has it's downsides. so i would say that we live longer despite the shite we eat and drink. it might seem i am negative but i actually enjoyed this video and i think you did a good job finding all these info about sardinia. i just wanted to present my point of view.
I discovered Pecorino from watching videos on the emerging benefits of C15 fat.
Grenache in France Cannonau in Italy. Garnacha in Spain. Same grape varietal. Grenache and Garnache are easy to find.
