Just going on record to say, they’re called carbo-hydrates for a reason, eat cyclical with the season.
Blown away by the magnesium and potassium content of watermelon and coconut water
I always carry a spare watermelon when mountain biking.
I guess this explains why when I volunteered at a feeding station for an ultra marathon event, the only thing everybody wanted (towards the end of the run) was watermelon with salt on it.
How ridiculously overpriced is LMNT? Its just a bit of flavoured salt.
Have always found cold milk to quench a thirst very well
Awesome! I wake up dry and mildly dehydrated most mornings so this info is invaluable.
The end of electrolytes!? I put a link to LMNT electrolytes down in the description.
So, I wanted to describe my experience. I'm on a ketogenic diet and did two bike rides over the weekend with a rest day in between. The first ride was seven hours, and I fueled with carbs during it. The next day, I had potatoes, ice cream, and cherries. Then I did another six-and-a-half-hour ride, again with carbs and an electrolyte drink. To my surprise, I measured ketones in my urine about two hours after the ride. So, I'm not too worried about insulin spikes during exercise, even though I had carbs.
Super fascinating Thomas! Love the milk and the Chia seed example.
