I was embarrassed to read labels in the grocery store when i 1st started paying attention to my diet.@ 560lbs i thought people would laugh at me counting calories and later carbs. Now 18 months later @415lbs. Ill read every label and compare every product in the aisle without a care. Dont be embarrassed to care about yourself EVER!! You can do it.

I've been an athlete for a lot of years. So I used to do regular hill sprints, burpees, sled work, stair runs, etc.. But trying to keep up that level of conditioning when you're lifting on a regular basis starts to take a toll on your CNS/recovery. I feel 10x better with three full body lifts per week, tons of daily walking, and lots of mobility work. For me, stretching and mobility used to be like a trip to the dentist. But now I've embraced it daily. **One thing that's been great for my hips is slow paced max incline walking. Every morning, I start my day with 30 min on 15% incline and 2.5mph. The goal is just health and continued hip mobility. Doing this in tandem with daily mobility work and a way higher step count has made my hips feel better than they have in years.

Great conversation! For me, avoiding all ultra-processed foods and added sugar is the only strategy that has given me a body to be proud of. I have exercised consistently since age 12, turning 55 soon, but it is the elimination of UPF/added sugar that has kept me fit and belly-fat-free with skeletal muscle! ❤

I remember mark from about 15 years ago, I’ve always checked in his channel a few times a year, and I still use my slingshot, still works after about 10 years of training with it. He has matured so well. Really is an intelligent and thoughtful person with a wise head on his shoulders.

I so agree with this concept! I have been on a low carb diet for over 4 months, loss 21 lbs. Also fasted for 1 month in March and dry fast twice a week. I think eating some carbs work for me , wholefood carbs. I started getting this pain in my head when my carb intake was lowest. Started to eat a about 30--50 grams more carbs now and then and I suddenly realised the pain has gone. You have to know your body and what works for you. I am not diabetic, no hbp etc. At 62, I am just trying to mitigate health issues , generally. I think I have found that niche, that sweet spot. like Thomas said, sometimes we really want to hold on to a certain way of eating for fear that changing things a bit will throw us off. I am only 5 months into this diet and I feel this way. I wont say I am keto, I am just very low carb. You have to find that balance. I eat one fruit if its available, less fat, normal protein and less carbs. Most of my fat comes from my my protein intake. I feel good. NO diet will totally prevent you from getting sick. Lots of other factors that contribute to sickness, but it will sure help your body fight off and lessen the impact of diseases. This is my humble opinion. Btw, that advice on planning your day and activities is excellent. It really works well. Keeping active helps you to eat less for sure! EAT LESS, EAT ALL THINGS MODERATELY!

Always great to see Smelly! His method of a jog helped me find that I could still do some level of a run after 50.
