Animal-Based Grocery Shopping Strategy at Sprouts

Learn exactly which items Dr. Saladino prioritizes at Sprouts—from grass-fed meats to organic berries—to optimize your animal-based diet while navigating common grocery store confusion.

Short Summary

  • Select 100% grass-fed beef over "pasture-raised" options which are often grain-finished.
  • Favor organic berries and Kabocha squash for carbohydrate sources while avoiding nightshades if sensitive.
  • Confirm raw dairy choices (A2/A2 preferred) and check packaging to avoid vitamins carried in seed oils.

This session unpacks the nuances of shopping for human-optimal foods, contrasting Sprouts' offerings against Whole Foods. You gain explicit guidance on identifying nutrient-dense meat, understanding complex carbohydrate choices, and discerning superior dairy products based on sourcing and processing methods.

Sprouts is far and away the best, at least here in AZ. They carry raw milk from a local dairy as well as A2 raw cheese and raw kefir both from Raw Farms. Ice Cream for Bears is amazing. They also carry some amazing raw unfiltered local honeys I can’t find anywhere else. Excited to see your lineage and heart & soil products should be showing up soon!

Whole Goods was great before Amazon bought it. I really miss the old Whole Foods.

I guess that explains why I would always end up buying bruised avocados.

The “redness” of the meat can largely be chalked up to how intense the CO treatment was and how recent it was.
