I was running 5 days a week but got burned out and got injured. I was training for a marathon. I now realise that my body did not recover well between the days so I need to take more rest. Running 3 days in the week is much more sustainable in the long run. And in between do crosstraining and gym work

Nicely Done 👍🏿. I’m 69 and have my 23rd marathon in three weeks. Did my long run yesterday, 20 miler. Your video is spot on. I’ve learned over the years to focus not on what I could run in my “younger” years but rather what I should be running these days. My PB is a 3hr 4 min marathon finish. I can hold a 9min/mile pace for a half marathon and know I shouldn’t target that for a full marathon. 🙋🏾‍♂️

You helped me go from zero to run my first marathon in 2024 and here I am learning from you to run my first 100km in 2025. Let's go!

Do a “Parkrun sandwich”, which consists of 5k easy + Parkrun itself (speed work) + 5k recovery run

Hi, Ben. I’m not sure if this will reach you, but I hope it does. It’s because I want you to know how much you’re helping and inspiring runners from around the world. I’m from the Philippines. I just want to thank you for your yt content and training plans in your site (especially the training plans). I’d be honest that I didn’t religiously followed your marathon training plan bec life happened. But your plan grounded me during my training and helped me achieve my SUB6 goal in my second marathon. Thank you! More power and good health to you! ♥️

I've been running for 15 years, done 12 marathons with a PR of 3 hours plus a bunch of triathlons at varying distances. I've never trained more than 3 times a week on the run as I burn out if I run more than that.

This is the sort of video I would love to make, but wasn’t sure how to execute it in an interesting way. You’ve crushed it, thanks Ben

My long run trick was run to park run, do park, run and run home, found it helpful practice to deal with other runners when tired
