I spent a whole winter years ago pumping my body with food that - according to the latest medicine - was good for me. Fermented foods, avocados … red wine. One fine day - after weeks of mild symptoms (palpitations, itchininess in various parts of the body), I got eczema in a bad way. Doctors just wanted to address the eczema with the usual steroids and steroid creams without showing the slight interest in what might be the cause. Luckily I stumbled upon a blog about HI. Changed my life. I can eat problematic foods in moderation now, but I know the triggers at least. Wish people weren’t so cavalier about suggesting the mindless consumption of foods high in histamine without a disclaimer.

Fascinating that fermentation can both benefit gut health in some cases and cause reactions in others

I developed histamine intolerance after living in mold. Never had any issues before that

I just ate bananas, avocado & tuna fish meal while watching. I don't think I'm histamine sensitive

I felt like I was healthy but could not lose weight. Cut out histomine and my weight went down. I think I was just very bloated and I didn’t feel as emotional all the time any more.
