Harnessing Earth's Energy: Scientific Benefits of Grounding

Discover how connecting your body to the Earth unlocks immediate anti-inflammatory and recovery benefits, supported by measurable scientific evidence and RCTs.

Short Summary

  • Grounding actively reduces inflammation and muscle damage markers following strenuous activity by supplying anti-inflammatory electrons.
  • This practice modulates red blood cell behavior (zeta potential), leading to thinner blood and improved circulation.
  • Grounding significantly enhances parasympathetic nervous system activation (vagal tone) and normalizes daily cortisol rhythms. This discussion unpacks the bioelectrical reasons why grounding, despite its simplicity, yields profound, evidence-based physiological changes, from better sleep to faster healing.

Thank you. It works. Swim in the ocean, walk barefoot on the beach, spend time sitting on grass, walk barefoot on grass, touch the trees, walk in nature. Sit in the morning sun for 15 minutes every day or every chance you get. Nature is pure bliss. Turn off your phone.❤

The idea that "skepticism" means "reflexively sneering at anything that doesn't fit my worldview" is a sadly common misunderstanding.

The older I get the more I realize Mother Nature provides the best medicine to our species. I just finished harvesting our garden plot for the year and we made calendula cream for our skin, have enough potatoes, beans, Swiss chard, peas, beets, and herbs to feed a village. We let some veggies go to seed for next year and it was all totally free. She provides and doesn’t ask a thing besides we treat her with respect…which we sadly do not do. Modern man’s entire problem is thinking we are above or not apart of nature. It will probably sadly be our demise

Hiked 8 grueling miles yesterday. Grounded at the campground, slept decently despite the coyotes, got up, and did it again today. Grounding makes a huge difference in reducing my inflammation.

I first read about it about 20 years ago and scoffed at it. But in 2018 i was experiencing so much pain from damage to my neck. I prayed for help. So, what comes into my YouTube feed, a video about grounding. It was a hot summer day so i went outside and only grounded for ten minutes and after going inside i noticed my pain was down by 50%. Ive been doing it ever since. I can even do it in the winter because my hubby built me a greenhouse. 😉
