I think macadamia nuts are superior but are so hard to limit. I could literally live on walnuts and macadamia nuts and dark chocolate.

Note that the study headlines were based on the use of LDL as a proxy, an assumption many people don't agree with, and they also devalued the other proxy (triglycerides) because statistical significance was not observed. This is subtle cherry picking. Also, the studies did not include similar swaps with different types of nuts, so they could not conclude anything regarding changes in macronutrient ratios or micronutrients that are somehow, maybe, different in walnuts. There are lots of ways to get lost in the fog.

Glad you mentioned almonds and oxalates. High oxalate foods like almonds and spinach wrecked my health. They are the opposite of healthy foods

The most interesting part here is that walnuts don’t just lower LDL — they seem to improve the environment inside the arteries themselves. That’s a much bigger story than just cholesterol numbers.
