I lost 200 pounds intermittent fasting about 10 years ago. I posted my before and afters to facebook and got banned from diet groups for it. I posted those results on Reddit recently and almost got 5k upvotes. Times are changing and it's good to see.
So great to chat with you my friend! You always bring the science. Thank you again! 💪🏼
I wasn't looking forward to spending an hour with Thomas DeLauer. But here he's quite personable because he's not a policy wonk who's throwing out $10 college words that he pulled out of a Gray's Anatomy textbook. It's a testament to how awesome his channel is that I haven't cancelled my subscription. Thomas has changed my life. I've lost more than 100 lbs. last year. My BP was 128/83 at my last doctor's visit. And I'm no longer prediabetic, etc. Also, I love hearing his story about walking to his favorite doughnut shop. That's what I do once a month (a two-mile trek roundtrip).
Since I started IF like 13 years ago, I lose fat more easily since I have a small windows to eat my calories, and still enjoy the foods I love (Although one's still can gain fat if eating in a calorie surplus), never felt hunger again, never felt a decrease in focus and energy again, never constipated again, never had acne again, my blood marks are outstanding, I can work the whole day without focusing that I have to eat, especially for people who lose a lot of time eating several times per day, and there are way more benefits.
I cut all types of sugar, lower my carbs to 150 grams a day and skipped breakfast for 2 months and lost 20 pounds
Starts at 1:50 to avoid the sales pitch..
To say his channel and varying messages are confusing is an understatement. He pushed keto harder than anyone on the web. His switch to "metabolic flexibility" seemed a step toward maturity
I was born in '78. I was a personal trainer for years. I, like every other trainer, can only go off of what science is telling us at the time (along with our anecdotal experience such as how I ALWAYS recommended high quality eggs regardless of what docs said). It's hard but you gotta follow the latest and greatest and do the best you can for your clients/audience.
IF does wonders I must say 💪💪💪💪
The lower carb I went the better I felt. I am 77 and have now been carnivore for a month. Super easy to be in ketosis. I am interested in autophagy and just came off of a super simple72 hour fast.
