As a OTR truck driver this is a hard pill to swallow. Still I’ve lost 56lbs in 5months mostly from diet but I started weight training 5~6 days a week for usually an hour or so with small rests in between sets. I have to thank you Thomas for all the info you’ve delivered in your videos as they’ve helped me gain the knowledge but more importantly kept me motivated.
I retired early because of too much sitting at work. It's one of the best decisions I've ever taken. Thank you, Thomas!
This gives me a new appreciation for my job as of right now. Working at TopGolf as a food runner allows me to constantly be moving throughout an 8 hour shift, allowing me to stay active for the latter part of my day and being able to hit my resistance training before in the morning. Stay active !
If you have a job that requires you to be sedentary, it’s a good idea to try to fidget, tighten your core (vacuum exercises), and move your legs in your chair as much as possible. When I had an injury I had to do sitting chair exercises just to get some movement in my day. I actually worked up a sweat…in my chair! I had low expectations when I started chair exercising but in the end it really surprised me!
Moved to Europe for 3 years in the 2000s. Walked everywhere. Lost 20 pounds in two months.
I will never have to worry about sitting too much . As a Healthcare worker I'm on my feet all day . The only time I truly sit down is to eat my meal once a shift . Pretty much running all day long. I still take walks outside after work quite regularly. I usually feel pretty good though.
A quote I heard recently- "Movement is your medicine".
I stood up while watching this video.
Keep up the awesome content I work 10 hour shifts sitting down so I appreciate this.
