You can also just put containers/bags of arugula (or my favorite, baby kale) in the freezer to keep it fresh and then put it in a daily smoothie. Since it's frozen, it crumbles into dust and blends well.
This is just anecdotal, but from my experience, cilantro has more absorbable nitrates than arugula. I notice a HUGE difference when I eat a handful of cilantro every day vs. when I just eat arugula salads every day. So, I started adding cilantro to my arugula salads to get the highest amount of nitrates in my diet.
Arginine supplementation can cause diarrhoea and tends to spike NO for only a short period. Citrulline doesn't cause bowel upset and raises NO over a longer period of time, which is why I prefer it.

WHAT?! READ THIS CRAZY TRUE STORY! When I was suffering HARD from Covid (ya'll, I didn't have the strength to stand up but my breathing and such were all fine the whole time), my body felt as though it's "electrical system" was failing or short circuiting; my body simply couldn't use the food and fat it had and my cells felt starved of what would give them what they needed to produce energy. On about day 7, my brain had a literal image of a flashing neon sign of: ATP. I said "Body, I KNOW but I also don't know how to help you!" I could stand at this point (but couldn't do a full 1 floor set of stairs without stopping) and felt the urge to go shopping -- if I passed out, so be it. Body made me stop at the front where the produce is to buy 2 packs of a Spring Greens mix, SPECIFICALLY to eat... you guessed it: the arugula. 😳🤗
Got interested in a comment about cilantro below and got some numbers: Arugula: Highest concentration, often cited around 480 mg/100g. Radishes: Very high, with some studies listing them as high as ~625 mg/100g. Cilantro: High (approx. 247 mg/100g), though generally lower than arugula per equal weight.

Just to give you a heads up, the whole food plant based community, specifically the group of people who do the Dr. Esselstyn diet have known all of this info for a long time now. None of this is new info tbf. People have been halting and reversing heart disease for years now by eating multiple doses of dark green leafy vegetables, like arugula for awhile.
