To those disappointed this was one long ad for their C15 supplement, natural sources are: 1. Whole fat butter 2. Whole milk 3. Cream from whole milk 4. Fatty fish, especially skin and heads, eg cod, mullet, cat fish 5. Brown algae
I’m fascinated by this topic. I was born in 1970 and formula-fed, as any middle class baby was at the time. At 1 year old I was taken off formula and put on skim milk because my mother didn’t want me to get chubby. Everything in our house growing up was low or no fat and she was a tyrant about it. Around 5 I just slowly started gaining about 5 lbs a year no matter what interventions were tried. I was tested for thyroid problems all throughout childhood…turns out I was hypo-thyroid but at a low enough level that they ignored it. My mom was so frustrated because she fed us healthy, homemade food and saw what I ate but there seemed to be no stopping the weight gain. I have suspected for a long time that there was a problem with my liver early on, but I have no proof. I have been fanatical about my kids eating full-fat dairy and they are healthy, lean and strong teenagers now.
This makes me think of what was referred to as “the French Paradox”. People in the 1970s were curious why the French could eat the rich foods and and drink copious amounts of red wine yet they had very low rates of heart disease, obesity and cancer. Fat is the key. Healthy natural fats are essential to our overall health. We’ve been lied to about low fat foods, salt free foods and supposedly healthy seed oils for decades. It’s high time we go back to the diet of our great grandparents and eat all natural foods again. MAHA
C15; whole milk, cheese, sour cream, whole milk yogurt & butter. So yes its sugar, processed food & the low fat lie. Eat better don't rely on the supplements.
Years ago I went for a check up and was dx with fatty liver. She told me to eat fruits and veggies and low fat dairy and lean meats and come back in 2 weeks. I said Ok. I ate beef, butter, eggs, bacon and the like and came back in 2 weeks. My fatty liver was gone and I had lost weight.
Reminds me of a 93 year old man I knew that’s said he ate butter eggs and milk on a farm everyday and he was healthy his whole life
The problem is they take the fat out and replace it with gums and carageenan. Now even the organic heavy whipping creams (like the brand shown in the thumbnail) are adding gums. The only brand of heavy whipping cream I can find that doesn’t add gums or carageenan is Alexandre Farms and it’s more expensive but I pay the $$$ because I don’t want the crappy gut disrupters added to my cream 😡
